Our coffee is crafted with passion—a labor of love perfected over time. We roast the finest Costa Rican coffee beans in small batches, creating our signature Café Rico Breakfast Blend. This method gives us control over every step, resulting in a brew that’s smooth, aromatic, and—if we may say so—damn good.

Fresh, Local Ingredients

We source our fruit directly from local vendors here in Puerto Viejo. Bananas arrive by the bunch, straight off the tree. Our pineapples—Costa Rican gold—are among the sweetest in the world. Ripe plantains are fried to a rich caramel hue, bringing out their natural sweetness.

Try a glass of fresh-squeezed orange juice, or a velvety papaya smoothie made to order—just a few of the fresh, seasonal options we serve each morning.

Freshly Baked Bread, Happy Eggs & Housemade Syrups

Our breads are baked by a local bakery using traditional methods. Each loaf is sliced fresh every morning and toasted to perfection—served with entrees or simply with butter, jam, and local honey.

Our cage-free brown eggs come from Happy Eggs and are delivered weekly. They’re the backbone of many of our breakfast plates, and we make sure every one is top-quality.

To sweeten your morning, we use raw sugar made from Costa Rican sugarcane—less refined and full of flavor. It’s a perfect match for a mug of our Café Rico Breakfast Blend. Our chocolate syrup is also made in-house using Costa Rican cocoa.
