2. What’s the atmosphere like?
Peaceful, welcoming, and pura vida — our garden setting is perfect for relaxing, enjoying nature, and escaping the bustle of downtown Puerto Viejo.

3. What kind of breakfasts do you serve?
Our award-winning breakfasts feature chef-crafted dishes made with locally sourced ingredients. Favorites include the Ana Rosa Special, Booster Salad, Rico Breakfast, and weekly rotating specials.

4. What kind of lunches do you serve?
From toasted sandwiches to fresh salads, our lunch menu offers a variety of locally inspired dishes, all made to order. Lunch is served daily from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

5. Do you serve coffee?
Absolutely. Café Rico is known for the best coffee in Puerto Viejo. We roast our beans in-house in small batches for a rich, aromatic flavor, and serve them in handcrafted mugs made by local artisans. Learn more about our coffee and café culture.

6. Can I read while I dine?
Yes! Browse the largest library in all of Puerto Viejo, with books in multiple languages, plus a book exchange program.

7. What kind of wildlife might I see?

Yes — our convenient laundry service lets you refresh your wardrobe while you relax with coffee, breakfast, or lunch.

10. What are your hours?
Open Saturday to Wednesday, 7 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Breakfast served 7 a.m. – 10 a.m.
Lunch served 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Laundry service available Friday to Wednesday 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.
